Did You Know?
The currency in the Bahamas is the Bahamian dollar (B$1),
which is equivalent in value to the US dollar. Both U.S. and
Bahamian dollars are accepted throughout the island, as are
US dollar travelers checks and most major credit cards.
There are many forms of ground transportation including
car, bicycle and scooter rentals (driving is on the left hand
side of the road). Taxis are available, as well as horse-drawn
surreys for sightseeing. Ferry service is available for inter-island
transportation.
Bay Street, the International Bazaar, and the Nassau Straw
Market are excellent shopping locations.

Bahamas

Just off the coast of Florida lies the Bahamas, a country made
up of 700 islands, each with a different physical and historical
makeup. There's an island perfect for everyone. Nassau, Paradise
Island and Cable Beach are filled with white beaches, Goombay punch,
and hundreds of years of democracy. Visit Freeport to experience
its hot days and even hotter nights. And then there's the Family
Islands, like the Abacos and Eleuthera, which teem with elegance
and are so quiet, you can hear your heart jump for joy.
