Southern
Africa
The
air gateway into Southern Africa is generally Johannesburg, direct
from the US. A good safari or combination safari/tour is easily
arranged in South Africa, including Cape Town, the Cape Dutch Wine
Country, and the Garden Route which can be combined with a safari
segment at Kruger National Park. Zimbabwe features a selection of
game parks, as well as the world famous Victoria Falls. In Botswana
one can stay at deluxe game lodges in Chobe National Park in the
north, or take the best tented safari using permanent tented camps
scattered throughout the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Reserve.
In Namibia along the Atlantic Coast one can combine a visit to the
skeleton coast with the world's tallest sand dunes, where one can
see the unique wildlife which has adapted to live in the harsh desert
environment of the Etosha Pan. In Zambia one can take 3 and 4 day
walking safaris in South Luwanga Park with armed guides to view
the wildlife without the crowds seen elsewhere and experience the
'old' flavor of a safari in the bush at the same time.
