Day 1

Board an overnight flight for Shanghai, China.

Day 2

You are met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3

A day of sightseeing in China's most Westernized city includes tours of the Old Quarter and a local street market, a visit to the Shanghai Art Museum and an evening performance by an acrobatic troop.

Day 4

Drive to Suzhou, to wander the classic "scholar's gardens" of late Imperial times in a city of canals and arched stone bridges before returning to Shanghai. Dinner this evening at "Monthe Bund."

Day 5

Visit the Children's Palace this morning, then fly to Yichang on the Yangzi River, to board the comfortable cruiser 'M/S East King' and begin a scenic cruise through the legendary Three Gorges.

Days 6-8

Travel through the Qutang, Wu and Xiling gorges, whose glories have inspired Chinese poetry and painting for centuries.

Day 9

Disembark your cruiser at Chongqing to board a flight for Xian.

After a morning visit to the great tomb complex of Emperor Qin Shihuangdi and its attendant army of exquisitely-detailed terra cotta warriors, take a walk through an herbal medicine market, followed by a look at the renowned Shaanxi Provincial Museum.

Morning flight to Beijing.

Days 12-13

Spend two days in China's most exciting city, where sightseeing includes visits to the Old City, Summer Palace, Forbidden City and a picnic lunch on the Great Wall. Your last evening in Beijing ends with dinner at the exclusive China Club.

Day 14

Transfer to the airport to board a homebound flight.
