Did You Know?
Discovered and claimed for Spain in 1499, Aruba was acquired
by the Dutch in 1636. A 19th century gold rush was followed
by prosperity brought on by the opening in 1924 of an oil refinery.
The last decades of the 20th century saw a boom in the tourism
industry. Aruba seceded from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986
and became a separate, autonomous member of the Kingdom of the
Netherlands.
Aruba is slightly larger in area than Washington, DC at
193 square kilometers.

A bustling 803-room resort with a two-story lobby, grand staircase,
waterfall, and rock garden. There are shops, a mini-mart, and restaurants
ranging from the poolside caf? to a bar in the form of a ship.
La Cabana is both a casino and a nightclub. Relax poolside or on
Eagle Beach. Suites range from studios to three bedrooms with views
of the pool or the sea.
La Cabana is special for families. The suites have all the conveniences
of home, including kitchenettes. The resort has several pool areas
and waterslides. Activities include beginner's scuba, windsurfing,
and outings on the Seaworld Explorer, a "semi-submarine"
to view sea life.
Club Cabana Nana is a fun place for kids. All day long, in a supervised
environment, children participate in an assortment of games, contests,
crafts and other entertaining activities that are as educational
as they are fun. They'll make new friends while playing pool games
and enjoying arts & crafts. Children 5-12 years old can be enrolled
for one or more days in the Club Cabana Nana Program. All Club Cabana
Nana staff are fully trained coordinators. The Club Cabana Nana
program includes a delicious lunch daily, except Wednesdays when
kids get to enjoy a pizza night.
