Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Page

Cruise Style: Mainstream
Big, bigger, biggest! Over a decade ago, Royal Caribbean launched
the first of the modern mega-cruise liners and continues to be an
all-around favorite of passengers who enjoy traditional cruising
ambiance with a touch of daring and whimsy tossed in. Plunging into
the twenty-first century, Royal Caribbean has introduced such new
and unheard of features as rock climbing walls, ice skating rinks,
and even the first self-leveling pool tables on a cruise ship. Is
a bowling alley next?
Special Features
Royal Caribbean ships are topped by the company’s distinctive
signature Viking Crown Lounge. These lofty perches allow passengers
to contemplate the passing seascape by day and dance away the night
in a disco high above the water. Expansive atriums and the generous
use of brass and floor to ceiling glass windows give each ship a
sense of spaciousness and style.
Dining is an International experience with changing nightly themes
and cuisine's from around the world.

Passengers
Royal Caribbean cruises have a broad appeal with something for
everyone. Families are partial to the newer vessels that have larger
staterooms and seemingly endless choices of activities and alternative
dining options. A variety of lounges and high-energy stage shows
draw the young and young at heart out to mingle and dance the night
away. The over-55 age group is attracted to longer cruises and more
exotic itineraries.
Children's Programs
Supervised age-appropriate activities are designed for children
ages 3 through 17 and evening babysitting services are available.
On the newest ships, teen centers with a disco satisfy even the
pickiest teenagers. A flat rate soda card program is a bonus for
family budgets. Children can have all the fountain soft drinks they
desire for a nominal charge. Drawbacks for families are the small
standard cabins in the older vessels and the lack of self-service
laundry facilities.
